At Hearing From Jesus, we take the commands of our Lord very seriously and that certainly includes The Great Commission. In fact, it is this command that most directly inspires our ministry. We want to obey Jesus and make disciples of all the nations.
Besides being the command of our Lord, it is also a natural desire we have in gratitude to God for His grace and forgiveness and also out of love for other people, who may be headed for eternal separation from God in hell, unless they hear and study the true word of God.
[Matthew 28:16-20] 16But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
To learn more about the Great Commission given to us by Jesus Christ, we recommend you study our teaching, The Great Commission – Make Disciples Of All The Nations, before continuing with this teaching on building a personal discipleship plan.
We structure our ministry with the goal of supporting a global community of Christian believers, who genuinely want to hear from God and change their lives to serve Him and to learn how to be effective disciples of Jesus Christ. We want to help our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world to study and learn God’s word, and to learn how to communicate and relate to God effectively so that each can learn to understand the truth of God’s word and test what they are taught by others against the written word of God in the Bible. We must test everything, including centuries old traditions of men that run counter to the commands of God. We must choose to follow the commands and instructions of God, changing our behaviors so that we are set apart from others, set apart for God’s purposes… which is to say, holy.
As each believer develops they should look to a point in their lives where they can also begin discipling others and helping them learn to study and understand the truth of God’s word and in turn change their behaviors to honor God more completely.
By changing our lives to better line up with what Jesus Christ teaches we will shine like a light to other Christians and to non-Christians as well and draw them toward Jesus.
Jesus has a passion for those that do not know Him yet. Our vision includes helping non-believers to understand the truth of the Christian faith and how it applies and is relevant to all of us in our daily lives. It is life changing and has eternal consequences.
Start on the right path. There is only one path to truth and life.
[John 14:6] Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Listen to God’s instruction instead of the world. The world is filled with lies and deceit to separate us from God. There is even much false teaching that is done in the name of Jesus. We must study and pray that God would help us see the truth of His word.
[Proverbs 20:12] Ears to hear and eyes to see—both are gifts from the Lord.
Obey God’s call to acknowledge Him in all we do, trust Him, be humble in our own wisdom, and turn away from evil.
[Proverbs 3:5-7] Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
