Deliverance for Valeri and Brad

Heavenly Father, Sometimes, what i feel my relationship needs is nothing short of a total transformation. This might mean anything from a radical shift of worldview, to a new set of daily habits, or a different way of dealing with emotions. But because i am a creature of habit, a total transformation is a difficult prospect.
It is possible, though, and only God can help both Brad and I to make the changes we need in order to heal our relationship according to scriptures. Here’s how we ask for help according to your will;
“Lord, please help Brad and I to bear the Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let us be transformed by these qualities.
God, please give us the strength to make these qualities permanent habits. Let them be on our minds at all times, influencing all that we do and bringing healing to our relationship. Base our relationship on loyalty, trust, hope, respect, unconditional love, affection, intimacy, compassion, joy, happiness, snd faithfulness to both each other and to you, Heavenly Father.
Lord, I realize that I must take ownership of my life and make changes necessary for a good relationship to happen. Please help me to change in the ways in which I must, and, just as importantly, to not change in the ways that I shouldn’t. Heal my relationship with Brad if it is your will and put upon his heart to call me soon. I love Brad, and I wouldn’t trade him for anyone. Pray for those who reject God entirely

It amazes me how people rationalize the very creation of our infinitely complex universe and then deny God who created it. Please pray with me that God would open the eyes of people around the world by speaking through the glory of creation itself! Once we accept God as creator, we are one big step closer to accepting that we should follow Him.

Lord, Enlighten the eyes of my heart

Let us approach our Lord with thanksgiving for fellow believers and for the wonderful gift of our own salvation by grace, through faith. Let us ask Him to enlighten the eyes of our hearts.

Ephesians 1

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace 8which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight 9He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth. In Him 11also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory. 13In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

15For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, 16do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; 17that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might 20which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,21far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. 22And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, 23which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

A Prayer For Peace

Psalm 122 is a reminder and example for us to come before YHWH and ask for peace. We can ask him for peace in our nation, our community, or even in our personal lives. Let us be joyful in coming before the LORD while we do so.

Psalm 122

Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.

A Song of Ascents, of David.

1I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the LORD.”

2Our feet are standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem,

3Jerusalem, that is built
As a city that is compact together;

4To which the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD
An ordinance for Israel—
To give thanks to the name of the LORD.

5For there thrones were set for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.

6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.

7“May peace be within your walls,
And prosperity within your palaces.”

8For the sake of my brothers and my friends,
I will now say, “May peace be within you.”

9For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,
I will seek your good.

Great is the LORD and highly to be praised

It is all too easy to take for granted having a relationship with the LORD. Let us remember to praise him.

Psalm 145

The LORD Extolled for His Goodness.

A Psalm of Praise, of David.

1I will extol You, my God, O King,
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.

2Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.

3Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised,
And His greatness is unsearchable.

4One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.

5On the glorious splendor of Your majesty
And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.

6Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts,
And I will tell of Your greatness.

7They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness
And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

8The LORD is gracious and merciful;
Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.

9The LORD is good to all,
And His mercies are over all His works.

10All Your works shall give thanks to You, O LORD,
And Your godly ones shall bless You.

11They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom
And talk of Your power;

12To make known to the sons of men Your mighty acts
And the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom.

13Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

14The LORD sustains all who fall
And raises up all who are bowed down.

15The eyes of all look to You,
And You give them their food in due time.

16You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17The LORD is righteous in all His ways
And kind in all His deeds.

18The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.

19He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also hear their cry and will save them.

20The LORD keeps all who love Him,
But all the wicked He will destroy.

21My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD,
And all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.

Pray for Hearing From Jesus Ministry

As brothers and sisters in Christ, we invite you to pray with us and for us. We would greatly appreciate your prayer for our ministry to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to lead people to  submit to Jesus as Lord of their lives and then to help them become disciples, who in turn disciple others.

  • Pray for our leadership and staff to be pure and to maintain personal holiness so that our sin does not obstruct the ministry of the Holy Spirit to those receiving our teaching and support.
  • Pray for our leadership and staff to understand clearly the truth of the scriptures, apply them in our own lives, and organize it in such a way that we can communicate clearly to those receiving our teaching and support.
  • Pray the Holy Spirit will prepare people to hear the gospel and choose Christ and then lead them to our ministry to hear the truth of the gospel proclaimed.
  • Pray that those receiving our teaching will be moved by the Holy Spirit to a personal response to accept the word and commit their lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, repenting from sin.
  • Pray that those receiving our teaching will have strong interest in returning to study and learn with us. Pray their attention will not wander or be distracted and that they would set aside dedicated time to study the scriptures with us and to pray to God.  Pray they would not be satisfied to just accept Jesus’ offer of salvation, but rather be led by the Holy Spirit to become disciples and then make disciples of others.

Thank you. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Pray God would defeat Islamic jihad/terrorism

Pray with me that God would defeat radical Islamic jihad/terrorism throughout the world. That God would protect and safeguard those persecuted by Islam throughout the world, to the glory and honor of His name. But even in this we must submit to God… thy will be done.

Yeshua’s Prayer For His Disciples

I found Yeshua’s prayer in John 17 for His disciples very moving. I encourage us to read it and apply the key points He highlights to our own prayer life for ourselves and for other followers of Christ.

Yeshua came to the Father in prayer for His disciples as He prepared to leave. We can learn much by reviewing and considering His words.

John 17:13-21

The Disciples in the World

     13“But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. 14“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15“I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.16“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17“Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. 18“As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19“For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

      20“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

  • Yeshua wanted His disciples to have His joy made full in themselves
  • He gave us the instructions of YHWH to this purpose for making our joy full. We can rightly conclude He intended for us to obey them, not just be aware of them.
  • Those who follow Yeshua, like Yeshua, are not “of the world”. The world will hate and reject us, usually more so as we stand and live more boldly for Christ. This does not mean every person will hate us, but one need only look around at newspapers for national and world events to see that followers of Christ are persecuted in varying degrees depending on where they are in the world. (I do not mean people who claim Christ and live like the world… the devil and the world love these folks.)
  • We need the Father’s help to protect us from Satan. Yes, he is a real adversary.
  • Sanctify means to be set apart as holy. Yeshua asks YHWH to make us holy through truth, or through the word. Again, we can reasonably conclude He intends for us to live according to the word rather than the same way the world lives.
  • Here, Yeshua specifically calls out that He is praying not just for this specific group of men, but for all who believe in Him.
  • His desire is for us as His followers to be united. We can see this is not the case throughout the world. This can seem difficult at times, because we are not called to accept false teaching, but we are called to unity. Many disagree on the true application of scripture creating division. We should allow room for debate where scripture permits, but there are some teachings that are heretical and dangerous and need to be rejected. (e.g. The teaching that everyone who claims Yeshua in name pleases the Lord and goes to heaven even if they are without repentance and do not change their lives to match His instruction.)

I encourage you to pray and reflect on these verses as well as incorporate them into your own prayer life. Ask the Father to enlighten you on their full meaning and application for your life.

May His Face Shine Upon You

What a beautiful blessing we find in Numbers 6, intended for the audience of Aaron and his sons. I pray this now for myself, those close to me, and also for pastors and leaders who follow Christ with a genuine heart. I pray it for those reading through the scriptures with me daily… and I sure appreciate if / when you pray for me as well.

Numbers 6:22-27

      22Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 23“Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying, ‘Thus you shall bless the sons of Israel. You shall say to them:

      24The LORD bless you, and keep you;

      25The LORD make His face shine on you,
And be gracious to you;

      26The LORD lift up His countenance on you,
And give you peace.’

27“So they shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I then will bless them.”

Another translation captures verse 24-26 slightly differently… “may the Lord’s face radiate with joy because of you”. I certainly want to have that relationship with Him and please Him in that way. I want other brothers and sisters in Christ to do so as well.

Numbers 6:24-26 Living Bible (TLB)

24-26 ‘May the Lord bless and protect you; may the Lord’s face radiate with joy because of you; may he be gracious to you, show you his favor, and give you his peace.’

Take some time this morning and pray for yourself, your family, brothers and sisters in Christ, and for whomever else you feel led to pray for today.

May the grace and peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ, be with you.

Consider Your Approach To Prayer

Do you pray for yourself like Solomon? Solomon prayed for God to grant him wisdom that he would need to properly rule over God’s people. He prayed unselfishly for the gift he needed to accomplish the purpose God had called him to do.

2 Chronicles 1:7-13

     7In that night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask what I shall give you.”

Solomon’s Prayer for Wisdom

      8Solomon said to God, “You have dealt with my father David with great lovingkindness, and have made me king in his place. 9“Now, O LORD God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth. 10“Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?” 11God said to Solomon, “Because you had this in mind, and did not ask for riches, wealth or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king, 12wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed nor those who will come after you.” 13So Solomon went from the high place which was at Gibeon, from the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem, and he reigned over Israel.

120,000 children killed every day

Brothers and sisters, come with me before God in prayer and repentance for our nations. Every day worldwide more than 120,000 unborn children are being killed by someone performing an abortion. That is an astonishing rate of 45 million children being killed this way each year. God put them in their mother’s wombs to grow so they could be safe and yet that is the leading cause of death in the world.

Pray too for those who have been involved in abortions already, either in performing, encouraging or forcing someone to participate, or the mother having an abortion. Their’s is a terrible grief and sadness. Pray they would come before God with repentant heart and be healed and forgiven. Pray they would forgive themselves too.

Pray for the USA to turn back to God and become again a true light to the nations

The United States of America was founded based on Christian ideals and beliefs, but over the past few hundred years has largely turned their back on God and now embrace worship of self, worship of money, and many other sins. The word of God is tossed aside in favor of the wicked desires of men. God’s word shows us that when the people turn from God, He releases His blessing from that country. That does not mean He gives up on His people there, but rather that the country will suffer. There are consequences. The USA has great potential to serve God across the world if even those who profess Jesus with their lips would genuinely  turn toward Him and change their behaviors to be a light to the nation and the world.

2 Chronicles 7:12-22

12Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13“If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15“Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. 16“For now I have chosen and consecrated this house that My name may be there forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. 17“As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep My statutes and My ordinances, 18then I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David, saying, ‘You shall not lack a man to be ruler in Israel.’

19“But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, 20then I will uproot you from My land which I have given you, and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. 21“As for this house, which was exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?’ 22“And they will say, ‘Because they forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers who brought them from the land of Egypt, and they adopted other gods and worshiped them and served them; therefore He has brought all this adversity on them.’”

Please take some time to pray for repentance and mercy for the USA as leader of the free world but also for other nations globally in which there still remains a remnant of true disciples seeking to follow the Lord’s will.

Psalm 85

Prayer for God’s Mercy upon the Nation.

For the choir director. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

     1O LORD, You showed favor to Your land;
You restored the captivity of Jacob.

2You forgave the iniquity of Your people;
You covered all their sin.

3You withdrew all Your fury;
You turned away from Your burning anger.

4Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your indignation toward us to cease.

5Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?

6Will You not Yourself revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?

7Show us Your lovingkindness, O LORD,
And grant us Your salvation.

8I will hear what God the LORD will say;
For He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones;
But let them not turn back to folly.

9Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.

10Lovingkindness and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11Truth springs from the earth,
And righteousness looks down from heaven.

12Indeed, the LORD will give what is good,
And our land will yield its produce.

13Righteousness will go before Him
And will make His footsteps into a way.

Grace and peace of Jesus Christ be with you.

The world is deceiving people to embrace homosexual behavior

I am terribly grieved that so many allow themselves to be deceived by the world, by Satan, that homosexual behavior is to be accepted and considered normal. Scripture could not be more clear, but even some who read and respect scripture allow themselves to be deceived on this point. It is a despicable sin according to the Bible and clearly destructive toward what God calls us to do. Many are allowing themselves to be separated by God through unrepentant sin. Please pray with me for God to open the eyes of the world and those who choose this behavior so that they would recognize it as sin and repent.

Let Our Light Shine for Christ

I invite you to pray with me for yourselves, your family, and your brothers and sisters in Christ around the globe that they would be bold for Christ and let their light shine, even if it results in persecution.

Many in our society try to compartmentalize their faith. Satan has convinced people that it is ok to keep your faith not only private, but invisible. In this way our faith will not hinder our careers or other pursuits where people may persecute or harass us for our faith. This is in direct contradiction to Christ calling us to be a light to others to shine and draw them to Him. We must not keep our faith invisible or entirely private.

Matthew 5:14-16

14“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

For the most part, in the US, we don’t see the levels of life threatening persecution that are common in some majority Muslim countries in the Middle East or in atheist countries like China. Our brothers and sisters in Christ certainly need our prayers. They face true difficulty for their faith. They stand strong. If someone claims to be Christian there, you know they mean it. There are few lukewarm Christians there, because it is not worth the cost unless you really believe.

However, even here in the US we face some level of cultural backlash against openly living out our faith in business. There are law suits or rebukes that we may offend someone. We each must decide what we are willing to do for Christ. What are we willing to risk to honor and obey Him? It is better to decide ahead of time, before the persecution comes to avoid rationalizing why we can accept a little more private faith… really an invisible faith… because we want to protect our “success” or comfort.

Daniel stands as an excellent example. He was successful at his job. He was liked by the king. He not only stood to lose these things, but also he knew he faced the lion’s den. He prayed anyway. He could have closed his window perhaps or blocked it. He could have prayed when he knew no one would be around. He refused to change his prayer behavior because of outside pressure. He did not let “it’s illegal” become an excuse to stop praying to God or to hiding his relationship with God. Daniel was a man of great faith, whom I admire.

How many of us avoid praying or have almost no prayer time even with no persecution? How many of us just allow ourselves to get “too busy” for prayer? We let the daily concerns and activities of the world choke out our prayer life with YHWH.

I hope and pray I would do like Daniel, while admittedly hoping I never have to face a situation like that one. I have, however, made conscious choices to not hide my faith at work, even if that would be more easily accepted. I am increasing my prayer time and asking YHWH to help me truly enjoy and look forward to prayer time. I pray YHWH gives me courage and boldness to live for Him and I encourage you to do the same.

Pray Humbly and Genuinely For Personal Repentance

For those of us who wish to truly submit to Jesus and follow Him, we must be willing to humbly admit our faults in order to change them. Jesus provides a wonderful example of a sinful man who genuinely comes before God for repentance and contrasts that with someone who is just making a show of pray and in a noticeably prideful manner. I encourage each of us to thoughtfully and humbly read the scripture from Luke and then come before God in genuine humility, admitting our sins, and ask for genuine forgiveness with wholehearted commitment to repent and sin no more.

Luke 18:9-14       9And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: 10“Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11“The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12‘I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ 13“But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ 14“I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

All of us remain sinful, no matter where we are in our journey. Take time to identify an area in which you need change and come before God with pure motive and pure heart, privately, and ask forgiveness and ask His help with repentance. Then work consciously to change your wrong behavior and He will help you.

Solomon’s Benediction… a Good Example for Us In Addressing YHWH

The full detailed account around Solomon’s presentation celebrating and dedicating the temple is almost overwhelming to take in, but it is worth reading and reflecting on. It is all about going over the top for honoring and respecting YHWH.

1 Kings 8:54-61

Solomon’s Benediction

      54When Solomon had finished praying this entire prayer and supplication to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread toward heaven. 55And he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:

56“Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant. 57“May the LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; may He not leave us or forsake us, 58that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers. 59“And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day requires, 60so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD is God; there is no one else. 61“Let your heart therefore be wholly devoted to the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes and to keep His commandments, as at this day.”

There are a few points to highlight.

  • Solomon praises YHWH for fulfilling all He promised.
  • Solomon asks that YHWH would never leave nor forsake them.
  • He asks for YHWH to incline their hearts toward Himself so that they would walk in all His ways.
  • He wants everyone to know there is only one God and it is YHWH.
  • He comes back again to the importance of obeying all YHWH’s statutes and commands as a sign of our devotion to Him.

All of these points are still very important for us today in our relationship with our Father.

Send more workers to help with harvest

Dear God, please send more workers to do your work and to help bring people to faith in your through Jesus Christ.

35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.38 So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” Matthew 9:35-38

Blessed are those that dwell in the house of the Lord!

Let us find joy in worshipping and praising our Lord and dwelling with Him in this life and the next!

Psalm 84

Longing for the Temple Worship.

For the choir director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

1How lovely are Your dwelling places,
O LORD of hosts!

2My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

3The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even Your altars, O LORD of hosts,
My King and my God.

4How blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are ever praising You.

5How blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
In whose heart are the highways to Zion!

6Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a spring;
The early rain also covers it with blessings.

7They go from strength to strength,
Every one of them appears before God in Zion.

8O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob!

9Behold our shield, O God,
And look upon the face of Your anointed.

10For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

11For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD gives grace and glory;
No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

12O LORD of hosts,
How blessed is the man who trusts in You!

Seek Wisdom From the One Who Is Truly Wise

Truly if you want wisdom, do not look to universities and degrees in higher learning, though those may have some value, but instead look to the Lord and ask Him humbly for the wisdom you seek. Pursue it in study of the scriptures and prayer and God will give it to you in the measure and time He deems appropriate.

Do not seek it though to accomplish your own plans and desires for you own glory, but the Lord’s plans for His glory through you. Do not ask for it expecting Him not to give it either, but rather expect and trust that He will grant what you ask.

2 Chronicles 1

James 1:5-8

5But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Thankfulness and Prayer For One Another

Colossians 1 contains a beautiful prayer that I would encourage us to pray for one another and for ourselves. There is no “magic” word or prayer, but this is a good example of a perspective of one believer who is close to YHWH having insight in how to pray for others who love YHWH also. It is not about the specific words, but rather the ideas behind them that help us focus on what is important.

Colossians 1:1-12

Thankfulness for Spiritual Attainments

     1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

      2To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

      3We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints; 5because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel 6which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth; 7just as you learned it from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf, 8and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.

      9For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

A Prayer of Moses, the Man of God

Psalm 90

God’s Eternity and Man’s Transitoriness.

A Prayer of Moses, the man of God.

     1Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.

2Before the mountains were born
Or You gave birth to the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

3You turn man back into dust
And say, “Return, O children of men.”

4For a thousand years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it passes by,
Or as a watch in the night.

5You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep;
In the morning they are like grass which sprouts anew.

6In the morning it flourishes and sprouts anew;
Toward evening it fades and withers away.

7For we have been consumed by Your anger
And by Your wrath we have been dismayed.

8You have placed our iniquities before You,
Our secret sins in the light of Your presence.

9For all our days have declined in Your fury;
We have finished our years like a sigh.

10As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years,
Or if due to strength, eighty years,
Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow;
For soon it is gone and we fly away.

11Who understands the power of Your anger
And Your fury, according to the fear that is due You?

12So teach us to number our days,
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.

13Do return, O LORD; how long will it be?
And be sorry for Your servants.

14O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness,
That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

15Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us,
And the years we have seen evil.

16Let Your work appear to Your servants
And Your majesty to their children.

17Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;
And confirm for us the work of our hands;
Yes, confirm the work of our hands.

Pray with me for God to heal and strengthen marriages

Father, please open the eyes and ears of Christians around the world to the truth and depth of your word. Help create a revival in Christian marriages by convicting your people of their selfishness and sin in marriage toward you and their spouse. Create in them a new spirit to seek to understand your word and follow you and as result experience the true joy that You intend for a godly marriage.

Let not people turn toward divorce and accept it because of the hardness of their hearts, but rather overcome it by living your word in their lives! Let your people truly be a light to the nations, demonstrating loving, kind, selfless, marriages that are filled with joy.

Open our eyes that we may behold the wonderful things of your law, O’God

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible. It is written originally in Hebrew in a literary style that begins one section after another, each with the next letter of the aleph bet (Hebrew alphabet). It is beautiful and passionate. It focuses on the law of God. It is only one place in scripture that speaks about the law of God, but it is a great place to start. Read and digest all that it claims about the law of God and then ask yourself, does describe the law as burdensome? difficult? harsh? or does it describe it as quite different than that? Does it describe something that we would want to be set free from? Is it bondage?

Put aside what you think you know about the law from those who do not understand it and listen to how it is described by one who understood it well and loved our heavenly Father very deeply. Don’t worry for now about what is the full content of “the law” or if we can fully follow the law today, but instead let us just try to better understand if scripture reveals it to be burdensome or something else.

Pray that the Lord would open our eyes that we may behold the wonderful things of His law!

Is God’s Law a Burden?

Praise the LORD, O My Soul!

I do not often just let loose and praise the LORD. I like to be reminded of the value of this by Psalms. Take some time to praise him today.

Psalm 146

The LORD an Abundant Helper.

     1Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul!

2I will praise the LORD while I live;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

3Do not trust in princes,
In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.

4His spirit departs, he returns to the earth;
In that very day his thoughts perish.

5How blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose hope is in the LORD his God,

6Who made heaven and earth,
The sea and all that is in them;
Who keeps faith forever;

7Who executes justice for the oppressed;
Who gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets the prisoners free.

8The LORD opens the eyes of the blind;
The LORD raises up those who are bowed down;
The LORD loves the righteous;

9The LORD protects the strangers;
He supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He thwarts the way of the wicked.

10The LORD will reign forever,
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the LORD!

Arise, O Lord!

We live in a fallen world. It is filled with sin and rebellion against God. There will be many times when we need help and deliverance from our heavenly Father. Let us turn to Him wholeheartedly and call out for His help. He is sufficient to handle any situation, no matter how dire it seems.

However, we should also take note… David highlights some important concepts to expecting God to answer our prayers. He has a just cause and he has dedicated himself to God and living according to God’s ways. David also expresses confidence… faith in the Lord as his deliverer. He even concludes indicating he is satisfied or content with the Lord, who has not yet addressed the prayer request. We should not necessarily expect God to answer our prayers if we live in disobedience and rebellion to Him… at least not until we genuinely and wholeheartedly repent from that rebellion and submit to Him.

Psalm 17

Prayer for Protection against Oppressors.

A Prayer of David.

1Hear a just cause, O LORD, give heed to my cry;
Give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.

2Let my judgment come forth from Your presence;
Let Your eyes look with equity.

3You have tried my heart;
You have visited me by night;
You have tested me and You find nothing;
I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.

4As for the deeds of men, by the word of Your lips
I have kept from the paths of the violent.

5My steps have held fast to Your paths.
My feet have not slipped.

6I have called upon You, for You will answer me, O God;
Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech.

7Wondrously show Your lovingkindness,
O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand
From those who rise up against them.

8Keep me as the apple of the eye;
Hide me in the shadow of Your wings

9From the wicked who despoil me,
My deadly enemies who surround me.

10They have closed their unfeeling heart,
With their mouth they speak proudly.

11They have now surrounded us in our steps;
They set their eyes to cast us down to the ground.

12He is like a lion that is eager to tear,
And as a young lion lurking in hiding places.

13Arise, O LORD, confront him, bring him low;
Deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword,

14From men with Your hand, O LORD,
From men of the world, whose portion is in this life,
And whose belly You fill with Your treasure;
They are satisfied with children,
And leave their abundance to their babes.

15As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness;
I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.

Christian Leaders

When we look at the disciples and at Paul, we see that they faced trials and adversity as they proclaimed the truth of the gospel. They asked for prayer from others on their behalf that they would continue to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ boldly and would not give in to watering down the gospel or preaching it quietly. Let us pray the same way for our Christian leaders today, whether they be small group leaders or leaders of international ministries or anywhere in between. All of our Christian leaders need this prayer.

Acts 4:29  29“And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence,

Ephesians 6:19-20  19and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Colossians 4:2-4  2Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; 3praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; 4that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak.May the grace and peace of Jesus Christ be with all of you.

Have mercy on me God.

Please help me, I am in my mid fourties, I have uterine fibroids. I am eleven weeks pregnant, my hcg level is falling down, please pray for me for my hcg level to rise up and secure my pregnancy. Have mercy on me. I am desperately in need of kids and my chance of falling pregnant again is min.

Help My Unbelief

When we face problems in this world, we often act as if we are not sure if God (Jehovah) is able to help. We may ask for His help, but already be making excuses for why He will not or can not help us. While it is important to submit to His will, even when His answer to our prayer is “no” or “not now” or “not the way you ask”, it is necessary if we expect Him to help us that we should believe that He can and that He hears us! If you find your self struggling, or even just want to grow in your faith, pray this simple prayer for yourself and others.

“Lord, help my unbelief. Help me grow in faith and believe more fully.”

The exact words are not important, but you get the idea. Read Mark 9:14-29 to see this prayer in action when a humble man in need of help came upon Jesus asking for help.

Praise the LORD with Music and Dancing

As we come before Him to pray, let us also praise the LORD with music and dancing!

Psalm 149

Israel Invoked to Praise the LORD.

1Praise the LORD!
Sing to the LORD a new song,
And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.

2Let Israel be glad in his Maker;
Let the sons of Zion rejoice in their King.

3Let them praise His name with dancing;
Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and lyre.

4For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;
He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.

5Let the godly ones exult in glory;
Let them sing for joy on their beds.

6Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
And a two-edged sword in their hand,

7To execute vengeance on the nations
And punishment on the peoples,

8To bind their kings with chains
And their nobles with fetters of iron,

9To execute on them the judgment written;
This is an honor for all His godly ones.
Praise the LORD!

A Prayer for One Another In Christ

A prayer for us as followers of Yeshua in considering praying for one another.

1 Thessalonians 3:11-13

11Now may our God and Father Himself and Jesus our Lord direct our way to you; 12and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you; 13so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

Help the poor rely on You instead of government

Lord Jesus, Please help the poor around the world. Help them to know and rely on you to provide instead of governments that may wish to manipulate them to remaining in poverty and dependent on government. Help them to have opportunity to work and support themselves and their families. Help them grow in faith as you are honored by their freedom from bondage under government programs (e.g. many in U.S. federal government promising give more and more for free despite having no money to pay for it themselves just to keep getting votes to stay in office.) Instead lead the poor to freedom from government servitude by helping them learn to work or gain skills to help them be set free of poverty and able to support themselves. Help all to be content with what you provide and not resent others who may have more.

Prayer of Supplication and Trust

A beautiful prayer… pray with me for yourself, other followers of Christ, and for the nations.

Psalm 86

A Psalm of Supplication and Trust.

A Prayer of David.

     1Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me;
For I am afflicted and needy.

2Preserve my soul, for I am a godly man;
O You my God, save Your servant who trusts in You.

3Be gracious to me, O Lord,
For to You I cry all day long.

4Make glad the soul of Your servant,
For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

5For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.

6Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer;
And give heed to the voice of my supplications!

7In the day of my trouble I shall call upon You,
For You will answer me.

8There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord,
Nor are there any works like Yours.

9All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And they shall glorify Your name.

10For You are great and do wondrous deeds;
You alone are God.

11Teach me Your way, O LORD;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.

12I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And will glorify Your name forever.

13For Your lovingkindness toward me is great,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

14O God, arrogant men have risen up against me,
And a band of violent men have sought my life,
And they have not set You before them.

15But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

16Turn to me, and be gracious to me;
Oh grant Your strength to Your servant,
And save the son of Your handmaid.

17Show me a sign for good,
That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed,
Because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

How Blessed Are The People Whose God Is Our LORD!

I really appreciate the example David sets in his psalms. He prays to the LORD and asks for help, yes, but he first focuses on praising and recognizing YHWH for who he is and what he has done. He does not simply jump into a list of requests or demands. He comes before YHWH with humility and thankfulness and focuses first on the greatness of our God.

Psalms 144

Prayer for Rescue and Prosperity.

A Psalm of David.

     1Blessed be the LORD, my rock,
Who trains my hands for war,
And my fingers for battle;

2My lovingkindness and my fortress,
My stronghold and my deliverer,
My shield and He in whom I take refuge,
Who subdues my people under me.

3O LORD, what is man, that You take knowledge of him?
Or the son of man, that You think of him?

4Man is like a mere breath;
His days are like a passing shadow.

5Bow Your heavens, O LORD, and come down;
Touch the mountains, that they may smoke.

6Flash forth lightning and scatter them;
Send out Your arrows and confuse them.

7Stretch forth Your hand from on high;
Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters,
Out of the hand of aliens

8Whose mouths speak deceit,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

9I will sing a new song to You, O God;
Upon a harp of ten strings I will sing praises to You,

10Who gives salvation to kings,
Who rescues David His servant from the evil sword.

11Rescue me and deliver me out of the hand of aliens,
Whose mouth speaks deceit
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

12Let our sons in their youth be as grown-up plants,
And our daughters as corner pillars fashioned as for a palace;

13Let our garners be full, furnishing every kind of produce,
And our flocks bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;

14Let our cattle bear
Without mishap and without loss,
Let there be no outcry in our streets!

15How blessed are the people who are so situated;
How blessed are the people whose God is the LORD!

Prayer for Defense Against the Wicked

Psalm 7

The LORD Implored to Defend the Psalmist against the Wicked.

Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush, a Benjamite.

     1O LORD my God, in You I have taken refuge;
Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,

2Or he will tear my soul like a lion,
Dragging me away, while there is none to deliver.

3O LORD my God, if I have done this,
If there is injustice in my hands,

4If I have rewarded evil to my friend,
Or have plundered him who without cause was my adversary,

5Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it;
And let him trample my life down to the ground
And lay my glory in the dust.

6Arise, O LORD, in Your anger;
Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries,
And arouse Yourself for me; You have appointed judgment.

7Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You,
And over them return on high.

8The LORD judges the peoples;
Vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.

9O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;
For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.

10My shield is with God,
Who saves the upright in heart.

11God is a righteous judge,
And a God who has indignation every day.

12If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword;
He has bent His bow and made it ready.

13He has also prepared for Himself deadly weapons;
He makes His arrows fiery shafts.

14Behold, he travails with wickedness,
And he conceives mischief and brings forth falsehood.

15He has dug a pit and hollowed it out,
And has fallen into the hole which he made.

16His mischief will return upon his own head,
And his violence will descend upon his own pate.

17I will give thanks to the LORD according to His righteousness
And will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

A Prayer for Defense Against the Wicked

Psalm 7

The LORD Implored to Defend the Psalmist against the Wicked.

Shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush, a Benjamite.

1O LORD my God, in You I have taken refuge;

5Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it;
And let him trample my life down to the ground
And lay my glory in the dust.

6Arise, O LORD, in Your anger;
Lift up Yourself against the rage of my adversaries,
And arouse Yourself for me; You have appointed judgment.

7Let the assembly of the peoples encompass You,
And over them return on high.

8The LORD judges the peoples;
Vindicate me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity that is in me.

9O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous;
For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds.

10My shield is with God,
Who saves the upright in heart.

11God is a righteous judge,
And a God who has indignation every day.

12If a man does not repent, He will sharpen His sword;
He has bent His bow and made it ready.

13He has also prepared for Himself deadly weapons;

May the Word of the LORD Spread Rapidly and Be Glorified

Let us pray for one another.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-5

    1Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you; 2and that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. 3But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one. 4We have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will continue to do what we command. 5May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

What a powerful short segment of scripture.

  • Pray for the word of the LORD to spread rapidly and be glorified.
  • Pray for one another to be rescued from perverse and evil men.
  • Recognize the Lord as faithful and our protector.
  • Have confidence in the Lord and encourage others to continue obeying His instruction.
  • Pray for one another that the Lord would direct our hearts into the love of God and steadfastness of Christ.

Teach Us Your Ways, O’ Lord

I invite each of you to take a few moments to pray with me right now and to continue this prayer through the next week every day. Ask God to help you, your family, friends and any spiritual, government or civic leaders you know. We all need God’s help to help us understand and follow His ways!

Psalms 25:4-5

   4Make me know Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.

   5Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
For You I wait all the day.

protection, God’s authority over situation, justice, evildoers

Sly, deceptive, bitter woman claiming I injured her with car. Completely fabricated. Insurance agencies not capable. I have lost hrs and hrs of time – I end up having to lead the whole process myself even though I am the client. Frustrated since I’m sick and need rest. Ask God to shut down woman’s deceptive schemes now. For agencies to finish case thoroughly but quickly, with humility. Close case now. Remove any trickery whatsoever by any party. Expose all crime at all levels, publicly. Full justice on whole situation.

Please pray

[We read] In the King James Bible, Ezekiel 22:30: “And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.”
O God, please help us and teach us to build a wall [of prayer] around the USA, Canada, Poland and Great Britain. Are you ready to stand in the gap, where God is the Helper and Teacher?

Please pray that Great Britain, Poland, the USA/Canada would overcome for: (The Acts 26.18).
* Poland, pray for freedom from dead religion to saving faith of Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord by faith only,
* the Church in the USA & Canada & Great Britain – Pray for repentance and cleansing of the church – Matt. 3.12 “Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
* my family:
1. Stir up the hearts of my family for ministry for me, my wife Dorothy, our daughter Ann, and our sons Peter and Daniel – “..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24.15
2. Pray for God’s will, wisdom, discernment, revelation and recognition for me and my family; I ask God for Edmund’s work situation, God’s direction for Edmund , Dorothy, Peter, Daniel and Ann (also God’s protection over the company where she works),
3. God’s order in my work. I ask God for great wisdom at my work. Blessings and the knowledge of Jesus Christ for my bosses. Thank God for the continuation of my work.

important timely request

I suffered severe harassment at a large private univ in Southern CA. I started experiencing trauma. In legal terms, the “pain and suffering” from that overall experience is immense. During the harassment, the school locked up my registration by claiming falsely that I had an unpaid balance on my student financial acct. In reality, the Director in charge of “collections” REFUSED to apply the payment I’d provided. And the collections agency they work with, equally corrupt, reported the supposed bad debt, and my credit crashed. I’ll be disputing the credit report. Pls pray for favor, I would win credit dispute, my credit to revive again. Pray for God to shut down all schemes by campus leaders and collections agency; expose crime; my protection in every direction – they’re not safe, who knows? Pray for mental and physical health, so limited and under resourced; for real help, sorely lacking from unwilling “friends” and supposed “believers;” protection from spiritual warfare.
