Repentance and Forgiveness… Trademarks of Followers of Yeshua

Stumbling blocks and offenses will come to us in our lives as followers of Yeshua. We look to YHWH to help guide us through or around them. The stumbling blocks can take many forms. Often it may come in the form of believers who make mistakes and sin, but it could come from non believers as well.

One of the most effective ways to address stumbling blocks for each other is embracing an attitude of repentance and forgiveness rather than pride and bitterness.

Luke 17:1-10

1He said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come! 2“It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea, than that he would cause one of these little ones to stumble. 3“Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4“And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.”

We will sin and make mistakes… all of us. But if we also couple that with an attitude toward repentance and forgiveness, then we shall do well to experience peace and joy as a community of believers, each growing in our faith.
