woods, path, one way,

There Is Only One Way… One Path…

Some people do not like to hear that there is one right answer. They prefer to believe that everyone can have their own “truth”. This perspective, however, is simply not true. Whether I believe in gravity, or not, I will fall if I step off a roof. Similarly, whether or not someone likes the truth, it is still the truth.

John 14:6

6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

As we accept Yeshua as our Lord and Savior and begin to follow Him it is very important for us to recognize that He is not one of many equal choices. He is “the way”. The only way.

Culture today and even for thousands of years seems prevalent with the idea that there are many gods and many different ways to serve Him. Many today are so afraid of offending someone that they hesitate to take this definitive position and instead want to leave open the possibility that other “good people” that do “good things” or “help people” still serve God, but through a different name. Quite simply, this is not valid. Yeshua was very clear. If we accept Him as Lord then we must reject all the other false paths and false beliefs as equivalent ways to honor God. Careful study of the remaining body of scripture also demonstrates the inconsistency between different faiths in ways that they cannot all be right and equivalent.

Once we come to recognize this fact, then we must answer what we will do about it in our lives. Will we diligently study the scriptures to learn and apply to our own lives all that He instructs and demonstrated? Will we live boldly for our Messiah? Will we share the good news, or keep it to ourselves to avoid offending someone? Are we loving others if we keep this truth from them, or do we show more love by trying to share it with them so they can act accordingly?

I invite you to pray with me:

Father, please help me to live boldly for You. Please help me to live as though You are the only way! Let me not compromise or seek to please people but rather focus on pleasing You above all. Amen.

Shalom
