Focus Your Efforts Where The Spirit Is Already At Work

Yeshua was never one to be intimidated or pushed around. He was always keenly aware whether the questions He received were a trap or genuine. He answered accordingly and with great cleverness. Yeshua was indeed wise and practical. He was definitely “in touch” with the people around Him and well aware that many would reject Him. He focused on those who were genuinely seeking to know the Father and did not waste time on those who were not. He looked for those in whom the Spirit was already working and then joined the work of the Father already in motion.

Luke 20:1-8

Jesus’ Authority Questioned

1On one of the days while He was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes with the elders confronted Him, 2and they spoke, saying to Him, “Tell us by what authority You are doing these things, or who is the one who gave You this authority?” 3Jesus answered and said to them, “I will also ask you a question, and you tell Me: 4“Was the baptism of John from heaven or from men?” 5They reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say, ‘Why did you not believe him?’ 6“But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us to death, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.” 7So they answered that they did not know where it came from. 8And Jesus said to them, “Nor will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Pray the Lord would help you see those around you in whom He already has the Spirit at work. Then focus your time and effort where the Spirit is already at work rather than trying to do it on your own.
